RecyclePalooza

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook yesterday:

So, we loaded up the back of the car:

And headed to the RecyclePalooza. They set up a big U shaped area in the parking lot with enough space for you to stop your car in front of each station. Metal, electronics, household grease, batteries, textiles, plastics, donations, shred, they had it all.

Our first stop was the textile recycling:

(The Boy had no interest in getting out for a picture.) Our next stop was Batteries:

Then Plastics:

We donated a toaster and a printer (not the same one as this one), then next up was the Paper Shred Stop. The guy manning this station said the machine can shred 6,000 pounds of paper an hour. Including old textbooks. (The ones I recycled are the professor ones with the answers to all of the questions in them. So, no donating those.)

After our documents and text books were shredded, we headed home. This was an amazing set up. I still am not sure who organized it or if they have it regularly, but I hope they do. ‘Cause it was awesome. And easy.
